US military covers up sexual assault by discharging victims
Cenk Uygur and journalist Karisa King discuss how the military has historically handled sexual assault cases: by diagnosing the victim with a ‘personality disorder’ and then discharging them from the service.
As one victim said: “I was officially diagnosed with an ‘adjustment disorder’ that meant that I had failed to adjust to rape conditions.”
Just as someone who is pretty well indoctrinated into our sexual assault system I wanna just say that if you’re unfit for service afterwards why would they keep you in? You generally would get a medical discharge which if you served in a time of war (the past however long we’ve been in Iraq etc) you can’t Get disabled vet which will help take care of you. The military isn’t necessarily here to hold your hand. That’s what sapr and sarc are for.

We are talking about military sexual assault. This crime is ignored and hushed up the majority of the time.
Help/support for the victims/survivors is nonexistent.
Our attackers get promotions and commendations.
They don’t even have the balls to diagnose us with PTSD. They just tell us that getting raped comes with the job.
SAPR and SARC are a fucking joke.
And so are you.
Truth. Most of the SAPR/SARC reps are the main perpetrators of assault.
The only requirement to be a SAPR rep is to be E4 or above. That’s it. Literally.
